WHAT WAS MY ROLE?
- Researched and purchased a portable digital studio suitable for traveling (DSLR camera, light tripod, lavalier microphones)
- Developed the relationship with the SME/Celebrity
- Secured the interview
- Booked the venue
- Set up the camera, tripod, and mics, so no crew was needed
- Digitized B-roll (the ethnographic videos needed to illustrate the interview)
- Commissioned and supervised the translation Spanish-English
- Produced the subtitles
- Edited the piece using iMovie
- Formatted and optimized the video for streaming online/mobile

FILMMAKING – DOCUMENTARY: THE RAP & THE CROSS
My documentary The Rap & The Cross premiered at NYU’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center.
The film was also featured at the Dance on Camera Film Festival at Lincoln Center and at the World Music Institute Film Festival in New York City.
WHAT WAS MY ROLE?
- I applied for and got grants from the Consulate of Spain in New York and from the Foundation for Ethnic Dance.
- I developed a production budget
- I created a timeline with schedules and milestones for the production
- I hired and managed supporting crews in the US and Spain
- I booked guests appearances and coordinated for interviews
- I made sure we had all the pertinent releases signed for broadcasting
- I wrote the script
- I shot most of the footage
- I edited the film using Final Cut Pro
- I secured the showing of the documentary at important film festivals
